This Year’s Winner of the Corporate Prize

This Year’s Winner of the Corporate Prize

The 7th of October the Grieg Group was awarded with the DnB NOR’s Corporate Prize 2011

The purpose of the award is to help strengthen and develop the industry in Bergen and Hordaland. By presenting this award DnB NOR aims to focus on companies that have the ability to bring new and innovative work to the region through new thinking and creativity. The award was first presented by the Bank of Bergen in 1986, to Hotell Norge, and the previously winners of the last four years are: Vizrt, It’s learning, Lier Gruppen and Holdbergfondene.

The winner is selected by a jury of three members, appointed by Bergen Næringsråd, Norges Handelshøyskole and DnB NOR. This year’s jury consisted of Marit Warnecke, Jan Haaland and Katrine Trovik. The jury’s decision is based on an overall assessment, which in addition to profitability and expansion is emphasized that the company has shown particular initiative and activity in one or more of the following areas:

• Production and Technology
• Product development
• Sales and Marketing
• Export oriented enterprises

DnB NOR’s Corporate Prize is NOK 100,000 as well as an art object: Kjuagutten by artist Stig Espedal, a bronzed sculpture of a young boy.

The jury’s decision:

• The Grieg Group is a solid group of companies with a great expertise in the industries they have chosen to engage in
• They are a Norway based group with a significant international presence
• The Grieg Foundation added a strong emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility
• They have a strong green profile which they actively live up to, both trough their own activities as well as by contributing to the development of new advanced technologies – we will specifically high light its focus on offshore wind power through participation in NorWind Installer, and Grieg Green is an environmentally friendly alternative to scraping of ships in China
• The operation of the companies emphasize the importance of providing equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender and nationality

We want to honor you for what you have meant to Bergen, our local and international business, not to mention the generous contribution, throughout years, provided to the general benefit of creating a better and more interesting society.

We thank you and congratulate you!
