The Grieg Group’s ordinary profit before tax came to NOK 581 mill in 2009 against NOK 63 mill in the previous year. The result after tax came to NOK 1 bill compared to NOK 246 mill in 2008.

All vessels sailing under Norwegian flag lost their Qualship 21 certifications a few years ago due to unwanted onboard incidents on too many ships. The flag has now been re-approved, and Grieg Shipping Group has started the certification process for all their vessels.
OceanWind plans 1000 MW wind farm in the North Sea

Morten Vike replaces Per Grieg jr. as the CEO of Grieg Seafood from 1 August 2008. He has since 1994 worked in the food industry and has since 2001 been Executive Vice President of Rieber & Søn, with particular responsibility for the international operations. Vike has lived and worked abroad for several years, i.e. as CEO of Vitana a.s. in the Czech Republic. Vike has a Msc. in Business and Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and a CEMS Master from St. Gallen, Switzerland.
(Bergen, 19 June 2008) Masterbulk (Westfal-Larsen) and Grieg have agreed on a new structure for Star Shipping. The operations will continue through two new, strong companies.
In July Grieg Seafood Rogaland was GlobalGap certified. It was the certification company Moody International who audited GSFR after the GlobalGap standard and concluded that the company meets the standard’s requirements.

NorWind chosen for concept study of offshore wind power
Statkraft has selected NorWind to conduct a concept study for a large, fixed-base wind power facility far offshore. The study aims to narrow the gap between today's wind-power technology for shallow waters and the deepwater technology of the future.
Elisabeth Grieg new President of Norwegian Shipowners' Association
The annual General Assembly of The Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (NSA) has chosen managing director Elisabeth Grieg (48) of Grieg International AS, Oslo, as new president. Ms. Grieg was unanimously proposed, and succeeds Trygve Seglem of Knutsen OAS Shipping who has been president for the last two years. Elisabeth Grieg is the first female President of the NSA.
Morten Vike will replace Per Grieg jr. as the CEO of Grieg Seafood. He comes from the position as Executive Vice President of Rieber & Søn ASA, responsible for the company's food divisions in Central and Eastern Europe. He will enter the position as CEO no later than 1 august 2008.
Scatec and Grieg Group enter the offshore wind market
Scatec and Grieg Group announced today that the companies have agreed on a joint venture to develop full scale offshore windfarms. As part of the agreement, the Grieg Group has taken a 40 % ownership in NorWind AS, a Scatec subsidiary. The two companies aim to develop NorWind into a serious competitor within the offshore wind market. At the same time, NorWind has signed a long term contract with Grieg Logistics for the subcontracting of logistics services.
Grieg Seafood ASA and AKVA group ASA have entered into an international frame agreement. The agreement was signed in Bergen, Friday October 19th by the Deputy CEO of Grieg, Mr. Ivar Kvangardsnes and the Chief Marketing Officer of AKVA, Mr. Trond Severinsen, and is a result of long term discussions and negotiations in order to reach a ”win-win” agreement for both parties.
The 3rd quarter of 2007 was the first full quarter for Grieg Seafood as a listed company and after the takeover of Hjaltland (Shetland, UK). The ambitious plan for the company has been presented in the IPO prospect, and as such the quarter progressed well towards development and utilisation of the potential capacity of the group.
In 2006 Elisabeth Grieg was awarded Shipping Personality of the Year by WISTA Norway. The Norwegian award was then a candidature to the international “WISTA personality of the year award". Grieg got the most votes, and was presented with the very first PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR award.
The Grieg Group acheived a profit profit before tax of 531 MNOK in 2006. The profit is a bit lower than the two previous years, but still uplifting as all the group companies are doing very well in their respective sectors.
August 30th: As a result of the Grieg Walks For Life campaign, money for 4.000 vaccine kits was handed over to Executive Director of Norwegian UNICEF, Kjersti Fløgstad.
The Grieg Group has signed an agreement to repurchase Aon Grieg Investor from Aon Grieg. The company will very shortly change its name to Grieg Investor and once again become a part of the Grieg Group as they were at the time of their establishment in 1998.
On April 22nd all land-based Grieg employees were gathered in Bergen for the Griegsplass 2 event. The focus during the day was mainly on our four core values and on the very good 2005 annual results. In addition, Griegsplass 2 was the kick-off for the Grieg Walks For Life campaign.

Italian solo rower Alex Bellini received assistance south of the Cape Verde Islands in the Atlantic Sunday March 11th. Mr. Bellini received food and drink supplies.

Our company sports team "Grieg Team" has again gained an amazing achievement in New York City Marathon. Among about 37 000 runners our running colleagues are again to be found at the head of the lists.

Westwood Shipping Lines and Star Shipping Sign Space Charter Agreement
Westwood Shipping Lines and Star Shipping have filed a Westbound Sailing and Space Charter Agreement with U.S. and Canadian regulators. Under the agreement, Star and Westwood will coordinate sailing schedules in order to allow vessel space to be shared. All regulatory requirements are expected to be met within 30 days, with operations to begin in late February.
Lepeophtheirus salmonis (salmon lice) was a major problem for wild salmon in Ryfylke last year. Local fish farmers will now unite their efforts in the fight against contamination, reports Stavanger Aftenblad.
Campbell River, January 22 2007 -- Grieg Seafood BC Ltd. (Grieg) is strengthening its investment in British Columbia with the purchase of Target Marine Group of Companies’s salmon farming sites on the Sunshine Coast and its processing facility in Egmont. Target Marine is the largest producer of Coho Salmon in North America.
The boards of Grieg Seafood AS and Volden Group AS have decided to merge the two fish farming companies. The new company will be named Grieg Seafood AS, and looks to be a leading player within fish farming in Europe and North America. The company is aiming for a stock exchange listing within the second half of 2007.
